Now that I’ve finally pulled myself out of my Christmas onesie I’ve finally sat down to think about all that happened in 2017. And it was a lot and not all of it was great. I met the love of my life (cheesy right?) but I also lost the most important person in my life, my Gram. I made the decision to book a flight across the world and I lost my job before I was fully ready to leave. I realized I no longer wanted to be a home owner and I put my house up for sale. I found out I have a heart condition and I started living a more healthy lifestyle. There were a lot of ups and downs but I think overall it was a pretty inspiring year.
I don’t like to dwell on the negative and I’m trying to move forward so I want to look back on the positive and fun things that happened in 2017.
Our Crater turned one and we had a really great party at Respect is Burning. This has been the best passion project I’ve ever worked on so it has been really exciting to see it grow. I love highlighting the amazing people, places and things in my hometown.
I went from employed to fun-employed and had to find my free. I now know that I can never sit at a desk in an office again. I need the freedom to explore and work on my terms.
I took my first vacation in three years and travelled to the East Coast of Canada with two of my favourite humans. We drove from Halifax to St. John’s and it was a very magical ten days. It sparked my travel bug and encouraged me to spend 2018 travelling the world.
I spent a lot of time in Toronto exploring the city I’ll hopefully soon call home. My boyfriend lived in Toronto and because I was surprisingly unemployed I was able to spend a lot of time with him which was amazing.
I put my house up for sale and booked a one-way flight to Australia. I’m finally going on the trip I’d been talking about for years.
I met Brandon and decided he was worth changing my plans for.
I’m trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I recently started working out again and I’ve been cutting out a lot of foods I know aren’t good for my heart. I cut out caffeine and started drinking tea and turmeric lattes. I’m filling myself up with nutrients and vitamins and hoping to spend 2018 healthy and happy.
